When I first started setting up my smart home, I didn't have many smart appliances. My budget was small but yet, I wanted an upgrade. This was when I discovered this nifty little device, the IR and RF smart remote. Personally, this my favourite smart home device due to the large number of use cases it can cater to. Just imagine having an all-in-one remote control that can be activated using voice command or through your phone. Isn't that amazing?!

The IR or IR + RF Smart Remote is a smart device that allows you to transform many of your home devices into smart ones without breaking the bank. These devices act as a universal remote for most IR or RF controlled devices and replicate the signal produced by the remotes to execute various commands. Some examples include air-conditioners, fans, TVs, and set-top boxes. Gone are the days where remotes are cluttered all over your table! It is also compatible with both Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and iOS Siri allowing you to use voice commands to execute your preferred settings. If you ask me, this is a must-have for any smart home. The possibilities are simply endless!
1) In a typical smart living room, the IR or IR + RF Smart remote can be programmed to turn on the TV, navigate to Netflix and adjust the room aircon with just a simple tap on your phone or voice command. All you have to do is head to the kitchen to grab some snacks. Now that’s what I call Netflix and Chill.
2) Another popular use case with the IR Smart Remote is to use it together with the scheduling system that comes with a smart home. For instance, I programmed my IR Smart Home to turn off the fan 15mins after the air-conditioner has been turned on. This allows the air conditioner to cool down the room without you ever feeling warm, and turns off the fan just before it gets too cold.
